New Allegations of Sexual Abuse Against Actor Percy Hynes White

The actor from Merlina Percy Hynes White has denied allegations of sexual abuse against him and stated that he is the victim of a disinformation campaign. The allegations of sexual abuse against Hynes White first appeared on Twitter, where a user claimed that he had assaulted her at a party in Toronto and had allegedly assaulted other women as well. Similar stories emerged from other accounts on social media.

Hynes White played Xavier Thorpe in the first season of the hit Netflix series Merlina, where his character is one of the students at Nevermore Academy. Despite his character’s popularity, some fans of the show began a campaign calling for his removal from the program. However, the network has not made any comment on the matter.

In his statement released on Instagram, Hynes White denied any allegations against him, saying that the rumors were false and unsubstantiated. He also expressed his worry that such false rumors could create mistrust towards real victims of sexual abuse.

Before his appearance in Merlina, Hynes White had appeared on Fox’s The Gifted and several Canadian shows such as Pretty Hard Cases, Transplant, and Murdoch Mysteries. While a second season of Merlina was formally announced on January 6, the network has not yet revealed whether Hynes White or any other cast members will be returning.

Despite the allegations, the first season of Merlina proved to be a massive hit for Netflix, becoming the platform’s second most-watched program in its history and setting a new record for the most viewed English-language series in its first week.
