Pete Davidson joked that the ferry he bought with Colin Jost will be an ‘issue for life’. The former Saturday Night Live star, 29, and the 41-year-old writer for NBC’s late-night comedy show decided to buy the Staten Island Ferry last year on a whim. Now, they have big plans to turn it into a multi-use venue docked in New York and Miami in the future.

Appearing on the ‘Family Trios with the Meyers Brothers’ podcast, Pete revealed: ‘We just built all the plans, and we asked them to do one of those computer generated, ‘show what could be’ kind of things, and now we’re out of some people. And it looks like everything is going well, but it’s definitely five years away.’

He continued: ‘There will be a restaurant, there will be a concert hall, there will be a movie theater. Colin called me and said, “Hey, can you take this call about the ferry?” I can’t take all the credit for that. I’m glad it didn’t become scrap or whatever. It’s actually funny that this is going to be a lifelong problem for Colin and I.’

The ‘King of Staten Island’ star, who is said to be in rehab seeking help after years of battling stress disorder traumatic disorder and borderline personality disorder, claimed the couple was high when they made the purchase. He told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: ‘I have no idea what’s going on with that. Colin and I were really high a year ago and we bought a ferry. And we’re working it out.”

Colin, however, refuted this claim. He quipped on Instagram: “Is it worse than he was actually completely sober when we bought the ferry? We are excited to prove non-believers wrong. You’re going to ROAR to get on this ferry in two years. Mark my words.’

‘No Long-Term Plans’: Pete Jokes about Strange Ferry Purchase

Pete had also joked that he wanted the ship gone. The actor quipped, ‘I hope he turns into a Transformer and gets the hell out of there so he can stop paying for it!’

Pete and Colin previously discussed their strange purchase during an episode of ‘Saturday Night Live’ in early 2022. The comedians confessed at the time that they had no long-term plans for their purchase. Pete said: ‘Hey! We bought a ferry, the windowless sea van.’ Colin added: ‘Yes, it’s very exciting. We thought the whole thing through.’
