PlayStation Studios will continue to expand in the future. Hermen Hults, head of Sony’s internal studies, commented on IGN on the occasion of the purchase of Bluepoint Games (Shadow of the Colossus, Demon’s Souls) that the company will continue to analyze the market for potential partnerships and acquisitions in the future.

Because as Tony Vinciquerra, head of Sony Pictures, said just a few weeks ago, the video game sector is right now the biggest focus of growth for the Japanese giant given its (still) growth margin. Hulst maintains that PlayStation is always open to establishing new negotiations, but only in exchange for being able to offer the highest quality to users through video games that leave their mark. The purchase of Bluepoint Games has been closed after fifteen years of working together.

“We are always open to starting new relationships or bringing people to the company, but only if we stick to the mindset that quality comes first and the right kind of innovative content, new experiences, diverse experiences, ”Hulst explains. “Because all these teams share a lot, but they are also very different from each other, and that’s what I really like,” he completes. The manager celebrates that this diversity is what the PlayStation audience celebrates, who “deserve the diversity of games that come out of PlayStation Studios.”
