Niantic will celebrate for the first time in the history of Pokémon GO the Day of the Dead on a global scale. The mexican celebration, a tradition of the culture of this country, will have its own event in the popular iOS and Android title in a special and limited way: it will only last two days. Day of the Dead event in Pokémon GO: date and characteristics
The 2021 Day of the Dead event will be held in Pokémon GO from Monday, November 1, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. (local time). Only during that period will we be able to learn what the team responsible for the game has prepared for us to commemorate this ancient Aztec tradition by which, it is said, the spirits of our loved ones never finish leaving, but travel to a different world to return to the ours at a specific time of the year: the Day of the Dead.
Although the ancestors’ favorite food dishes are prepared in Mexico, the streets are covered with petals of cempasúchil and candles and incenses are lit with local music, in Pokémon GO it will be different.
It should be said that in the Store we will find a box of objects totally free to celebrate the Day of the Dead. It will include the following for our avatar:
