Prince Royce Debuts at No. 9 on Billboard’s Tropical Airplay Chart
Prince Royce has achieved another milestone in his career as he scores his 33rd top 10 hit on Billboard’s Tropical Airplay chart. The Dominican artist debuted his latest single, “Me EnRD,” at No. 9 on the chart dated May 6.
The romantic bachata was released through Smiling Prince/Sony Music Latin on April 20 and was premiered live at the eighth annual Latin American Music Awards in Las Vegas. Impressively, “Me EnRD” hit No. 9 with 3.33 million audience impressions in its first tracking week ending April 27, according to Luminate.
Furthermore, the song is only the second to debut in the top 10 so far in 2023 after Marshmello and Manuel Turizo’s “El merengue” started at No. 4 on the March 18 chart.
With “Me EnRD” being the 36th entry into his career, the song marks Royce’s 33rd Tropical Airplay top 10 hit and fifth debut at that level. It’s his best ranking since “Déjà Vu” with Shakira, which opened at No. 2 in March 2017 and spent 11 weeks in the top spot.
Among artists with the most top 10 hits on the list, Royce moves up to fifth place, tying with Elvis Crespo, with Víctor Manuelle remaining in the lead with 64 since the beginning of the chart in 1994.
Moreover, “Me EnRD” is Royce’s 20th top 10 hit without the collaboration of another artist, following “Otra vez,” which peaked at No. 6 on the chart dated February 11. On the current chart, “Otra vez” sits at No. 11 for a second consecutive week.
Finally, “Me EnRD” peaks at No. 30 on the all-genre Latin Airplay chart, where the singer-songwriter achieves his 41st entry.
