Priyanka Chopra Opens Up About Her Daughter’s Hospitalization

Early last year, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas became parents to little Malti through a surrogacy procedure. Unfortunately, the baby girl was born prematurely and had to remain in the intensive care unit for several months, which was a difficult period for the couple. In a recent interview with Today, the actress opened up about the first few months of her daughter’s life and how she’s reconciling motherhood with her profession.

Chopra revealed that nothing prevents her from sharing special moments with her daughter after work, stating, “It’s bath time, story time, bedtime, and then it’s our time, for me and Nick, whether it’s to entertain friends or just sit and watch a movie.” The couple seems to leave behind the difficult moment of their daughter’s hospitalization, and the actress couldn’t be prouder of her motherhood role.

When the family was finally able to return home, the actress revealed that she had problems adjusting to Malti’s care outside the hospital. However, Chopra’s motherhood brings her the feeling of “wanting to conquer the world.” She emphasizes how prioritizing her family is key for her, stating that “Every family’s journey is unique and requires a certain level of faith.”

The couple welcomed Malti in January last year through a surrogate. After more than a hundred days in the ICU, their little girl finally came home. Chopra dedicated emotional words to her baby girl on her first Mother’s Day, thanking all the doctors, nurses, and specialists who were there every step of the way.

Chopra and Jonas are grateful for their little girl, and the actress stressed the importance of being there for her daughter and being her strength. Her motherhood serves as her driving force, giving her the motivation to tackle anything that comes her way.
