The deployment of 50 National Guard soldiers will last between 30 and 60 days, according to reported the Government of South Dakota in a press release.
The AP news agency detailed that the cost of the troop deployment was borne by the private Willis and Reba Johnsons foundation, known for financially supporting former Republican President Donald Trump (2017-2021).
Four governors join

Texas Policies
The Republican governors have joined the actions led by their co-religionist Greg Abbott, who issued in Texas a disaster declaration due to the situation on the southern border and authorized resources to continue with the construction of the wall on the border line with Mexico.
With that declaration, the Texas governor acquires the authority to use “resources and strategies to combat the continuous flow of illegal immigrants.” So far, 28 counties in the state have joined the disaster declaration and will be able join forces to carry out arrests for “crimes related to the border crisis“.

In support of the Republican governors, Trump voiced his support for Abbott this Wednesday, during an event held in a section of the border wall near the city of Weslaco, in southern Texas.
“In just five months, the Biden Administration has done everything possible to reverse former President Trump’s border strategy,” Abbott said, adding that the “open border policies” pushed by the Democratic leader “have caused a disaster.”
Policy change
The Biden administration has certainly reversed Trump’s immigration policies.
