Both actors have prolific careers and have made a significant mark in the film industry.

In early May, Robert De Niro shocked the public with the news that he had become a father for the seventh time at the age of 79. Now, a few weeks after the arrival of De Niro’s baby, Al Pacino has revealed that he, too, will have another child very soon, at the age of 83. Both actors now belong to the club of older parents.

Congratulating Pacino on his news, De Niro said in a recent interview on the Today Show (via Discussing Film), “Al Pacino just had a baby, they told me yesterday morning, and he’s a few years older than me. God bless him, very happy for him.”

Pacino and De Niro are definitely two of the most respected and admired actors in Hollywood thanks to their outstanding careers in the film industry. Over the years, they have developed a relationship of friendship and mutual respect, and although they didn’t meet until later in their careers, they have shared the screen on several occasions and have left a lasting mark on movie history.

Their first significant collaboration was in The Godfather: Part II, a 1974 film directed by Francis Ford Coppola. In this, Al Pacino plays Michael Corleone, the protagonist of the film and the son of Vito Corleone. While Robert De Niro gives life to Vito Corleone, the young Don Corleone and father of Michael. This performance earned him an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Over the years, Pacino and De Niro have spoken positively of each other in interviews and expressed mutual admiration. They have praised each other’s current abilities and recognized his contribution to cinema. Although they haven’t worked together on as many films as some might hope, their collaboration on Fuego contra Fuego, a 1995 film directed by Michael Mann, left a significant mark on the industry and established a lasting connection between them.

In Fuego contra Fuego, both Al Pacino and Robert De Niro are the main actors and they star in the film together. Pacino stars as Detective Vincent Hanna, a tenacious and dedicated homicide detective for the Los Angeles Police Department. Hanna is known for his obsession with catching criminals and his tumultuous lifestyle. For his part, De Niro plays Neil McCauley, a cunning and skilled bank robber and leader of a gang of criminals. McCauley is a meticulous and cold character who lives by his own moral code.

In the film, Pacino and De Niro’s characters face off in a game of cat and mouse, as Hanna relentlessly pursues McCauley and the criminal gang. The film stands out for its tension, action and the final confrontation between the two actors in a famous scene in a cafe, which has become one of the most iconic of their careers.
