The state visit of the President of Colombia to Spain has come to an end, and a reception was held at the El Pardo Palace in honor of the Kings before his departure. The visit served to highlight and strengthen the ties and bilateral relations between the two countries.
During the ceremony, King Felipe and Queen Letizia, and Colombia’s president and his wife showed great connection and harmony. Before receiving the rest of the attendees and greeting them as protocol dictates, the two women chatted and exchanged opinions.
Queen Letizia opted for a sober style at the reception and paired her dark, tight-fitting, midi-cut ‘LBD’ style dress with golden pumps. The Colombian first lady, on the other hand, chose a more daring outfit with a mixture of different shades.
Among the attendees, the presence of choreographer María Pagés and her husband, writer Larbi El-Harti stood out. This is not the first time that the Sevillian artist has had contact with the Casa Real, as the Kings attended her flamenco dance show last year.
The El Pardo Palace is a stage full of history, serving as the official residence of Heads of State. Its origins as a royal hunting ground date back to 1405.
This reception is the penultimate act attended by King Felipe before traveling to London for the coronation of Carlos III. On Friday, he will be in Lugo to publicize the 2023 “Scientific Research” Award from the Princess of Girona Foundation (FPdGi). In the afternoon, he will be at Buckingham Palace for a reception attended by other heads of state and heiresses such as Amalia from the Netherlands and Elisabeth from the Belgians.
