Rupert Grint Meets ‘Harry Potter’ Co-Star Ron Stood Up: See the Fun Moment

School day resentments die hard when they come from Hogwarts! Harry Potter star Rupert Grint reunited with his former co-star, Afshan Azad-Kazi, over the weekend in London.

Grint played the lovable Ron Weasley, the redheaded best friend of Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) and Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) in the eight films of the wizarding series. Azad-Kazi played Padma Patil, the Ravenclaw twin sister of Parvati Patil (Shefali Chowdhury), who attends the Yule Ball with Ron in the franchise’s fourth film, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Azad-Kazi, who is currently pregnant with her second child, shared photos of herself and Grint at the London Olympia Exhibition Centre during the London Film & Comic Con.

Afshan Azad attends the World Premiere of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 at Odeon Leicester Square on Nov. 11, 2010 in London, England.

“Padma & Ron reunited after 20+ years,” Azad-Kazi captioned the post, which featured the modern-day shot and a throwback to the 2005 film. “Oh how parenthood has changed us all 🥲⚡️ ps He’s still not asked me to dance 🙄.”

In the Goblet of Fire, Ron rudely brings Padma as his date only to spend the evening jealously complaining about Hermione attending the dance with Viktor Krum (Stanislav Yanevski).

As for Grint, he welcomed daughter Wednesday with his longtime love, Georgia Groome, in 2020.

Though she’s still a bit young to watch Harry Potter, Grint shared in 2022 that he’s been prepping his daughter for when the day comes.

“I’ve already started showing her the trailers. She has a wand and a PEZ dispenser with my head on it,” he shared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon at the time. “We don’t feed her PEZ, but she has [the dispenser].”

In 2021, Grint told ET that fatherhood has “definitely changed my perspective,” calling the experience “just incredible.”
