Santander appoints Ángel Rivera as CEO of Santander Spain

Banco Santander has appointed Ángel Rivera, until now director of Commercial Banking of Santander Spain, as CEO of Santander Spain, as reported by the entity in a press release.

Rivera replaces Antonio Simões, who combined the position of CEO of the bank in Spain with that of regional head of Europe, a function with which he joined the group in September 2020.

Rivera will continue to report to Simões in his new role following the change, which will take effect on February 1, 2023.

At the same time, the bank has approved the appointment of Mahesh Aditya as risk manager of Grupo Santander, which will be effective in March 2023.
