Scream returned years later with a new installment in the cult slasher series, in which a killer kills his victims by wearing a distinctive mask. Sidney Prescott (played by Neve Campbell) and his former friends, played again by Courteney Cox and David Arquette, return to the story. The other roles have been played by Melissa Barrera, Jack Quaid, Mikey Madison, Jenna Ortega, Dylan Minnette, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Mason Gooding. The following people were in charge of the direction Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillettwho were behind the camera of the film also rented Playing at Buried.
The horror film had some success and received many positive reviews from viewers and critics. It is therefore not surprising that we are already wondering about the sequels of this iconic franchise. In an interview with Collider, Tyler Gillett explained that there are several ideas for other stories in the world of the series. Scream but he and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin also have ideas for original stories that they could tackle. They just have to decide what they’re going to create first.
I can say that we like both ideas and would like to do both. We have a lot of really fun and original things that we’re working on. We know there have been conversations about Play Buriedand that writers Guy [Busick] and Jamie [Vanderbilt] have incredible ideas about what they could do Scream After the last game. We just want to be involved in all of this.
In addition, Tyler Gillett enjoyed working on set with people who changed him, not just creatively. He said he found the experience extremely rewarding, which he didn’t expect. That is why he would very much like to repeat it as many times as possible. He thinks that with Guy Busick, Jamie Vanderbilt, William Sherak, Paul Neinstein, and the Project X team, they will still create a lot of amazing things. He stressed that their collaboration was a unique challenge and that they looked forward to taking on others. He hopes there will be others.
