Will there be a Fourth Season of the Show?

The finale episode of the third season was aired on the 28th of May, 2020. Since then, many fans have been speculating a lot about the arrival of the fourth season. All three seasons of Siren have been a decent hit. However, the future of the show remains in question.

During the same year, the production network, Freeform, announced that the fourth season of Siren has been canceled. It means that the network has officially closed the door for the show to be telecast. Despite this, many fans are discussing its revival throughout social media in the hope the makers may give another thought to this successful series.

Why did the Makers Cancel Siren Season 4?

The mermaid fantasy drama was a fresh take on the fantasy genre. However, it couldn’t get enough thrill to keep the audience on the edge of their seats. When the last season of the show was aired, it entertained a decent viewership. There was a cliffhanger ending which highlighted the show might be renewed for a subsequent season. However, it is not going to come back.

The third season took off when the whole world was shut down. Reportedly, the pandemic made it difficult for the makers to get the show to stand back on its feet. The cinematography demanded a lot of visual independence and a massive land for filming, which became a challenge for the makers to keep up with.

It is not the only reason behind the cancellation of the next season. According to the makers, they could not find a convincing storyline for the next season and everything made sense to them at that point.

How did the Third Season End?

In the finale episode of the third season, the audience witnessed that the story mainly focused on saving Hope and the mermaid community where Tia tries to wipe them away. However, with Ryn and her bigger army. Tia didn’t stand a chance. As a result, she ends up getting killed while Ben manages to save Hope and bring her back to safety.

Although no plan of reviving the show has been on the cards, if it is to happen, it will revolve around Ben’s past and also dig into finding the answers that were left as a cliffhanger in the third season.
