Sonic The Movie 2 shows its first official poster and confirms the voice of Tails

Although we already knew that Sonic will be at The Game Awards 2021, until now we did not know the reason for his presence, and although we thought it could have to do with your next game (Sonic Frontiers?), It seems that it will actually be in relation to Sonic The Movie 2, which will show its first trailer during the gala of prizes (check here what time it will be in your country). To whet your appetite, the film’s social networks have been updated with a first poster where we can see our favorite hedgehog, the return of Jim Carrey as Doctor Eggman and one of the stellar appearances of this sequel: Tails, who was already seen in the post-credits scene from the original.

Who will be Knuckles and Tails?

And speaking of Tails, in the last hours it has also been confirmed who will voice the character. To everyone’s surprise and joy, there will be no strange things. No changes with commercial motives like the one that generated the controversy of Lola Bunny in Space Jam 2. The person in charge of giving life to Tails will be Colleen O’Shaughnessey, the same person who lends you his voice in video games and a seasoned voice actress who Anglo-Saxons have heard in Naruto, Digimon, and hundreds of other jobs. O’Shaughnessey is thus joined by Idris Leiba in the role of Knuckles. This was the actress’s reaction to the news:

Sonic The Movie 2 It wrapped up filming last May and has been in post-production ever since, finishing polishing its final look. This trailer will allow you to see its progress and will serve to open your mouth for its premiere, scheduled in theaters for the April 8, 2022. It will once again be led by Jeff Fowler and will be inspired by the mythical Sonic The Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles. As in that one, the fastest hedgehog on the planet will leave in search of an emerald of chaos capable of building and destroying entire civilizations. Between games, movies and even series (the new Sonic Prime for Netflix), 2022 seems called to be a great year for the character of Sega.
