Spain registered this Tuesday the highest number of infections by covid-19 since the start of the pandemic, with 49,823 confirmed cases in one day.
The Ministry of Health reported the highest number of infections since the beginning of the pandemic, thus exceeding the day of January 21, when 44,357 cases of the SARS-CoV-2 virus were counted. With this update, Spain accumulates a total of 5,585,054 infections.
Likewise, the Health portfolio reported on the death of 94 people due to the coronavirus in the last 24 hours. In total, Spain reports a total of 88,887 fatalities from the coronavirus.
Until this Tuesday, the Spanish authorities have vaccinated, with the complete scheme, 37.7 million people. This represents 89.7% of the population over 12 years of age.

On the other hand, the nation reports that hospital occupancy for patients with covid-19 is 6.14%. In the case of beds with mechanical respirators, which are used for people in critical condition, the occupancy stands at 15.77% of the total capacity.
