Stanley Tucci is a well-known actor who has played some iconic roles in big movies throughout his career, such as The Devil Wears Fashion, The Hunger Games, Captain America: The First Avenger, and Spotlight. However, the actor recently revealed that there are some roles he would avoid if he had the choice. In an interview with ET, Tucci shared that he wouldn’t play George Harvey in The Lovely Bones again, stating that it was a tough experience due to the role’s nature.

The film was based on Alice Sebold’s 2002 book of the same name, and Tucci played a sadistic serial killer known for raping and murdering at least seven girls. Despite trying to wriggle out of the role, Tucci agreed to do it after learning of director Peter Jackson’s motivation for giving him the spot. Jackson chose Tucci because he didn’t want the actor to be too dramatic during the performance, considering the character’s heinous nature.

On a brighter note, Tucci shared that he would love to reprise his role as Nigel in The Devil Wears Fashion, which was a fantastic experience for him. He would also play Paul Child again, as he found it to be a wonderful role in Julie and Julia.

In Tucci’s new role in Citadel, he plays Bernard Orlick, the man behind an international espionage institution. Though he couldn’t say much about the spy thriller, Tucci teased that he’s excited about the universe it presents, referencing future spinoffs and movie crossovers.

Tucci comes from going through a hard personal moment, after overcoming cancer. In 2021, he revealed that he was diagnosed with a tumor at the base of his tongue, but he did not want to make it public. He had to undergo a lot of radiation and chemotherapy, which was difficult not only for him but also for his children. Nonetheless, Tucci remains content with what he has achieved so far and is excited about the possibilities that the future holds.
