PlayStation Showcase started strong. The first announcement was nothing more and nothing less than the remake of the classic Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, also known by the name of KOTOR. The BioWare work will return without the Canadian study, since the managers of this version are Aspyr. Although no gameplay was shown, the first details have emerged little by little: It has been confirmed that some actors will be back to embody their characters of yesteryear.
Jennifer Hale, the Jedi Bastila Shan in the original title, will be one of the actresses to return to the video game. “I can confirm that it is Jennifer Hale.”Producer Ryan Treadwell said in an entry posted on the official Star Wars website. It refers to the voice that sounds in the teaser trailer. “We all really appreciate Jennifer. She is an incredible talent and she immediately took on the role of Bastila when she helped us on the teaser trailer. I think you are also going to hear other familiar voices, but this is the most we are going to say right now ”.
An ambitious project
In that same publication, the developers have delved a little more into what it means for them to take over a video game so award-winning and loved by fans of Star Wars and RPGs in particular. Lucasfilm Games’ Orion Kellogg has explained that his intention is “to create an incredible role-playing game.” Treadwell, for his part, stressed that most of the developers that make up the team are used to developing high-budget titles. “Work at KOTOR it’s a dream for everyone. We are excited and want to do justice to such an incredible game as this. “
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake is in development for PS5 and PC, no release date yet. It should be noted that it is a temporary exclusive on the Sony console.
