As soon as the X-wing landed at the compound where Grogu was being held, many Star Wars fans automatically thought of the possibility that Luke Skywalker was the pilot. The Jedi master appeared with his robe and his characteristic lightsaber, this time in CGI version, since the face he showed was that of the original actor Mark Hamill, in his youth. Season 2 of The Mandalorian culminated in this way, but the youtuber Shamook posted a video where that effect looked even better. He has now confirmed that he has been hired by Lucasfilm.
Shamook es currently employed by ILM, Lucasfilm’s special effects and technology studio, as he himself confirmed in a statement: “As some of you already know, I joined ILM / Lucasfilm a few months ago, so I haven’t had time to work on no other content for YouTube ”. From now on, this artist will work as a senior facial capture artist, as reported in another video.

Disney Gallery: How Luke Skywalker Was Made in The Mandalorian
After the premiere of the full season of The Mandalorian, many were waiting for the episodes of Disney Gallery. However, unlike the first season, Lucasfilm posted a single episode in which not all aspects of the creative process were reviewed. Months later, surely to avoid spoiling, the company founded by George Lucas will broadcast a new chapter on Disney + (August 25), this time focused on the recreation of Luke Skywalker. Mark Hamill himself was involved in the process, as he is the actor who gives voice to it again. Additionally, Hamill also made a cameo in the first season, playing the android who now runs the canteen.
The Mandalorian is renewed for a third season, but will not be released in 2021. Instead we will see The Book of Boba Fett, the first spin-off.
