StarzPlay will premiere its first original series in Spanish: MalaYerba

MalaYerba tells the story of three young entrepreneurs: Felix, Mariana e Ignacio, which together with a quota of intelligence and ambition are launched into the new Colombian market for medicinal cannabis. They achieve significant success with their KannaLab company, which is the envy of any entrepreneur. The partners are the perfect team: Mariana owns the land to cultivate, Ignacio owns the distribution network and Félix the perfect seed with which they will conquer the world.

However, all that glitters is not gold. Your business will soon encounter difficulties that cannot be avoided when Lola, an ambitious journalist, turns her full attention to the company of these young people and discovers a dark past behind the famous seed that was so successful for KannaLab. In this way, the initial argument of MalaYerba, the first fiction in Spanish by StarzPlay.

StarzPlay’s first original fiction in Spanish

The long-awaited series will arrive in Spain and Latin America through the streaming platform next October 31 with ten episodes that will be presented weekly every Sunday. The duration of each delivery? 45 minutes to see how the story of Mariana, Ignacio and Felix at the helm of a business that could well conquer the globe.

MalaYerba stars a group of young talents who will make this story a memorable story. The cast? Maria Elisa Camargo (Afternoon I Met Him, The Baron) is Mariana; Carolina Gaitan (Without Breasts, Yes There Is Paradise, The End of Paradise, Narcos) is Lola; Juan Pablo Urrego (Wild District, The End of Paradise, Story of a Crime: Colmenares) is Ignacio and Sebastian Eslava (Wild District, Narcos, Always a Witch) is Felix.

The series was created by Natalia Echeverri, executive producer of Dynamo; co-created with the director Andres Beltran (Wild District, Bolívar: An Admirable Fight) and with the scriptwriter Esteban Orozco, whose script Nomads was included in the 2019 Black List edition. The direction is in charge of Andres Beltran and Solomon Simhon. The series is co-produced by Pantaya, Sony Pictures Television (SPT) and Dynamo. SPT has the global distribution rights to MalaYerba.
