Shuhei Yoshida, former president of SIE Worldwide Studios and current head of the independent video games department at PlayStation, has published a photograph of the Steam Deck running Horizon: Zero Dawn, one of the most successful titles from PlayStation Studios in the past generation of consoles; at the same time as one of the games first party available now in the Valve store.

Like other development studios and industry personalities, the company led by Gabe Newell has begun shipping Steam Deck development units. Yoshida has chosen his personal Twitter account to show his portable device – in essence, a computer with the form factor of a console – along with the work of Guerrila Games, available on Steam since last August 2020 and future protagonist of PS5 and PS4 starting February 18, 2022 with Horizon Forbidden West.
This image actually makes it possible to read between the lines of Sony’s recent moves towards the world of PC gaming. After Horizon: Zero Dawn and Days Gone, the 2018 installment of God of War will arrive on Steam and Epic Games Store in January; while at the beginning of the year they will also premiere Uncharted: Legacy of the Thieves Collection, which includes the fourth installment and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Looking ahead, hopefully more PlayStation Studios games will make their way to PC; presumably months after the release on PS5 / PS4 consoles and not simultaneously.
Steam Deck, available from late 2021
Steam Deck It will be launched from the end of the year – by reservation only – and will come equipped with a seven-inch screen in 1280x800p resolution, an AMD Zen 2 CPU with an 8 RDNA 2 CUs GPU, 1-1.6 GHz and 16 GB of RAM, designed to run all current titles in the catalog.
