Just a few months after airing the final episode of Supernatural, The CW is already planning a return for the series. The chain is developing a prequel series titled The Winchesters, which centers on Sam and Dean Winchester’s parents, reportedly Deadline.
Jensen Ackles to reprise his role as Dean Winchester for the Winchesters. Jensen and his wife, Danneel Ackles, will serve as executive producers. Supernatural co-executive producer Robbie Thompson will be responsible for writing the series.
“After Supernatural ended in its 15th season, we knew it wasn’t the end. Because as we say in the series: ‘Nothing really ends, right?“Jensen Ackles said.”When Danneel and I formed Chaos Machine Productions, we knew that the first story we wanted to tell was that of John and Mary Winchester, or rather the origin story of Supernatural. Supernatural is one of the longest-running science fiction series in American television history. It originated from Warner Bros and ended up running The CW. The Serie completed its 15 seasons last November, capitulating the adventures of brothers Dean and Sam Winchester. His parents, John and Mary, were played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Samantha Smith.
We remind you that Jensen Ackles will also appear in the third season of The Boys from Amazon as Soldier Boy, a hero similar to Captain America and created for “highlight a bygone era of masculinity and bravery“.
