Tell Me Your Secrets Season 2 Release Date, Story, and Cast

The first season of “Tell Me Your Secrets,” created and written by Harriet Warner (“The Alienist,” “Call the Midwife”), introduced us to three women whose lives were intertwined in very dark ways. One of the characters was a woman in Witness Protection who was forced to start anew in a new town only to discover that she couldn’t escape the horrors of her prior life. Another character was a woman who was on a desperate, conviction-driven hunt for her missing daughter, who had been assumed dead for years.

The third character was a serial predator who was recruited to do someone else’s dirty work while also trying to keep his previous urges from resurfacing. Warner’s fascinating, complicated plot unfolded during the first ten episodes of “Tell Me Your Secrets,” leaving viewers wanting more by the time the credits rolled on the season finale if the highly positive audience ratings on Rotten Tomatoes are any indication.

In upcoming episodes, Emma will appear to have a clear mind as she searches for her daughter, Freya, but a ghost from the past stands in the way of true happiness. Here’s what to expect from season 2 of Tell Me Your Secrets.

What happened in Season 1 of Tell Me Your Secrets?

Season 1 of Tell Me Your Secrets follows three intertwined storylines. Karen/Emma (Lily Rabe) was dating serial killer Kit (Xavier Samuel) but was unaware of his heinous crimes. She was imprisoned, her memories erased, and she was placed under witness protection. Then there’s Mary (Amy Brenneman), who is looking for her missing daughter and suspects Kit of being the perpetrator.

Even if Kit turns up dead, she won’t give up looking. Finally, there’s John (Hamish Linklater), whom Mary seeks out to assist her in her search for her daughter, but who has his own dark tendencies. The narratives twist and shift throughout the first season as Mary searches for answers about her daughter, accusing Emma (who was Karen when she was with Kit) of knowing something. Emma, on the other hand, is unable to recall everything from her past, even when memories begin to return. In the end, Mary’s daughter is discovered to be alive and was Kit’s accomplice in the crime.

Who will be on the Tell Me Your Secrets Season 2 cast?

Tell Me Your Secrets Season 2

It’s safe to assume that if Tell Me Your Secrets is renewed for a second season, the entire cast will return. We still had almost everyone intact when we left off in Season 1 (except Kit, who bit it much too early), and there’s plenty more narrative still to tell. As a result, we’re hoping that at least Rabe, Brenneman, and Linklater will reprise their roles. Theresa (Stella Baker), Mary’s daughter, would also be crucial to return for Season 2 because, lady, we need answers!

Season 2 of Tell Me Your Secrets Story Line

Season 2 of Tell Me Your Secrets will explore Emma’s search for Freya. She recalls in “The Dead Come Back” that Theresa had dated Kit and then attacked her out of jealousy. The huge shock is that Theresa is still alive, and she abducted Freya from a Minnesota foster home.

Naturally, this affects Mary Barlow’s storyline in the Amazon Prime series, as she refuses to think her daughter could be a killer during a press conference in The Tell Me Your Secrets season 1 finale, and instead blames Emma. There’s enough unresolved conflict from “The Dead Come Back” to explore in Tell Me Your Secrets season 2. Rose and her father Bodie (Richard Thomas) conspired to kill a member of the Jerome House who knows about a medical conspiracy involving young women, and it’s revealed that John Tyler survived an attack from Emma.

Peter Guillory has been embroiled in the Jerome House scandal, and he will certainly turn on Emma at some point. Of course, Mary Barlow and John Tyler will be looking for her as well. As a result, Tell Me Your Secrets season 2 appears to take on an Emma vs. The World vibe, with the odds stacked against Rabe’s character in the Amazon Prime show.

Have there been any Season 2 spoilers released yet?

What’s more, guess what? You guessed it: we haven’t learned anything about Season 2 yet. What we do know is that viewers are likely to want to learn more about Theresa’s experience. Season 1 only skims the surface of what happens to her, and there’s a lot more to learn. However, all of the characters have more backstories to tell. Rabe told StyleCaster after the first season premiered that she thought the first season was well-contained if it had to stand alone, but she believes there is more story to be told.

“[Executive producer] Harriet [Warner] and I are quite close and talk about everything,” she explained. “Throughout the course of filming the program, we were in constant communication, and one of the topics we discussed was her thoughts for season 2 and where her mind was at the time. I’m familiar with some of the scenarios that could occur… There are many lovely things to return to.”

When will the second season of Tell Me Your Secrets premiere?

Tell Me Your Secrets Season 2

Season 2 of Tell Me Your Secrets has yet to be formally approved by Amazon Prime. Despite the negative reviews, the thriller’s audience score on Rotten Tomatoes suggests it will be streaming hit, with fresh episodes perhaps being ordered by spring 2021. Amazon Prime launched five original drama series in 2020, with only one of them, Utopia, being canceled.

On this one, your guess is as good as ours. There is currently no word on a Season 2 of the show, which means that if one does materialize, it will be a long time coming. If that happens, it won’t be until at least 2023, but we’ll just have to wait for Amazon to make an announcement before we can make a better guest.
