We expected a lot from Disney + Day 2021, but certainly not a time machine, and that is precisely what they seem to have pulled out of their sleeve Marvel and Disney. Both companies are back in the 90s and resurrected the childhoods of many of us by announcing that the legendary animated series of the X-Men returns. It will do it under a new name, X-Men 97, and will arrive exclusively for Disney + in 2023.

The original series aired between 1992 and 1994, and had 5 seasons and 76 episodes, most of which were issued in Spain through the now defunct Fox Kids. This continuation will take up the adventures of Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm and company at the same point you left them then. It has been confirmed that the writers of that (Eric y Julia Lewald) will act as consultants in it and that, at least in English, the series will feature the same cast of actors dubbing to bring the characters to life.

New Wolverine video game on the way

The X-Men will also return to the world of video games in the future, but hand in hand with Wolverine. The character will star in Marvel’s Wolverine, one of the new projects of Insomniac Games. The truth is that it could not have fallen into better hands, as this is the developer of the outstanding Marvel’s Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Little does he know about the title beyond that will look for a mature tone and that its scriptwriter will be Walt Williams, who signed the gruesome story of Spec-Ops: The Line. Will be PS5 exclusive And although it seems unlikely that it will arrive in 2023 (the year in which Insomniac intends to launch Marvel’s Spider-Man 2), its departure will not be far from X-Men 97 and the wonderful resurrection of our childhood.
