Prince Louis Steals the Show at Grandfather’s Coronation
Prince Louis once again captured hearts as his personality shone through during his grandfather’s coronation. The young prince, who recently turned five, waved to royal fans as he traveled to Westminster Abbey in a carriage with the Prince and Princess of Wales and their two brothers.
Before the busy day ahead, Prince Louis was seen yawning widely as he waited outside the Abbey. Once inside, he pointed to the ceiling and stared in fascination, while his sister, Princess Charlotte, leaned in to see what caught his attention. His mother, Kate, smiled fondly at her youngest son as he struggled to sit still.
In another adorable part of the day, Prince Louis held his sister’s hand as they waited inside the Abbey. However, TV footage showed that he was no longer with his parents and sister in the front row during the event.
Prince George, the future king, played the role of Page of Honour to his grandfather, holding onto a corner of the King’s hanging robe in the royal procession.
Louis was dressed elegantly in a lace-trimmed Hainsworth Garter Blue Doeskin robe. The robe was specially designed, with a black garment and a Garter Blue stripe, collar, cuffs and front made by Savile Row bespoke tailors Dege and Skinner. Princess Charlotte wore a mini-me version of her mother’s outfit, while Kate wore a deep blue Victorian Royal Order mantle edged with scarlet over an embroidered ivory silk crepe gown by Alexander McQueen.
Prince Louis has always been known for his lively personality. Last year during his great-grandmother’s Jubilee celebrations, he made faces, picked his nose and covered his ears during the Trooping the Colour.
It’s safe to say that Prince Louis once again stole the show with his adorable antics during his grandfather’s coronation.
