Remembering Michael Jackson: 14 Years After His Tragic Death
It was running on June 25, 2009 when tragic news shocked the world: Michael Jackson died at 50 years of age. And he did it in his mansion near Bel-Air, after an overdose of anesthetics. The ‘king of pop’ had already marked a before and after in music, with a career full of successes, but also full of controversy over his personal life.
Today marks the 14th anniversary of his death and not only fans remember him every anniversary, but also his three children: Prince, 26; Paris, 25; and ‘Bigi’ (formerly known as Blanket), 21.
Michael Jackson’s Children: Living in the Spotlight
The three sons of Michael Jackson have always lived under the spotlight and the watchful eye of journalists, especially since the artist’s death, since before the singer himself tried to keep them away from any paparazzi. Fourteen years later, and already over 20, each one is taking different paths. Of course, always very close despite being involved in different projects.
Prince Jackson: Following in His Father’s Footsteps
The eldest of the three, Prince, is 26 years old and was born the fruit of his father’s love for his ex-wife, Debbie Rowe. At his age, he already has his own company, King’s Son Productions, which he founded in 2016 and is dedicated to the production of music videos. In addition, he has also put all his efforts into a non-profit foundation, Heal Los Angeles Foundation -with the aim of continuing the legacy of his father, Heal the world, and to provide medicines to children and combat child abuse-, with which he develops different initiatives. Also, Prince is fond of motorcycles, animals, and travel. In fact, he has a YouTube channel where he used to upload videos. However, it has not been updated for two years.
Paris Jackson: Carving Her Own Path in Music
Prince’s middle sister, Paris, who is also the daughter of Debbie Rowe, has been the only one who has followed in her father’s footsteps and has dedicated herself fully to music. Before that, her restlessness led her to become a successful model and also to try her luck in movies – she participated in the Scream series and in the movie Gringo. In addition, she maintains a very good relationship with her brother, Prince, and there are many occasions in which both one and the other compliment each other publicly. In music, Paris has been part of various bands. She worked with singer Gabriel Glenn and together they formed a duo called The Soundflowers. In 2020, the artist’s daughter made her solo debut with the song Let down, and her first album, Wilted, would arrive in November of that same year.
‘Bigi’: Finding His Own Path
Bigi, the younger brother of the three, is the most unknown. He was born via surrogacy in 2002 and in 2015 he changed his name to ‘Bigi’. Both Prince and Paris have protected and supported him after the death of their father. In his case, his path has been totally different from that of his brothers. In fact, on several occasions he has been seen publicly in acts related -most of the time- with the world of cinema and the preservation of the environment.
