Once again we bow to Emma Corrin for his magnificent interpretation of the Princess Diana.

Netflix released a deleted scene from season four of The Crown And, in the new images, a lonely Princess Diana decides to see the anniversary gift she gave her husband, the Prince carlos (Josh O’Connor) – A recording of his rendition of “All I Ask of You” from the hit Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, The Phantom of the Opera.

In the romantic scene, the princess sings her heart out, captivating the West End cast and crew. Yet the moment seems to highlight the fact that while she thrives on being the center of attention, she couldn’t be more alone in the shadows.

As fans of the series will recall, Prince Charles teases this anniversary gift with his sister, Princess Anne (Erin Doherty), highlighting how different the Prince and Princess of Wales really were.

Corrin and O’Connor have received praise from fans and critics alike for their portrayals of the doomed royal couple. In July, they were both nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in an Emmys Drama Series, respectively.

Season four follows Charles and Diana’s whirlwind courtship and subsequent unhappiness, especially as Queen Elizabeth II (Olivia Colman) encourages the couple to make the marriage work, so the heartbreaking performance below is just one of the many of the season.
