Italian luxury brand Versace has mixed headbands and studs in its latest womenswear creations at Milan Fashion Week, offering a collection it has dubbed “The Goddess Goes Grunge” for the next spring.
Designer Donatella Versace opened the show late on Friday with black looks, including fitted dresses cut at different angles. Black biker jackets and leather pants had fringes or metal studs.
Pink and purple designs followed, including maxi dresses with plunging draped necklines, flared trousers, and long chiffon zebra print shirts.
“I’ve always liked rebellious women. A confident, intelligent and slightly diva woman,” Donatella Versace said in a statement.
“She wears leather, studs and frayed jeans and has enough attitude to mix them with chiffon, sweater and a tiara! She is a strong and liberated woman; she is beautiful; she knows it. She is the Goddess of Liberty.”
Latest looks included short and long dresses with lace trims in purple, pink and lime, complemented by veils in the same color.
US TV star Paris Hilton closed the show in a short pink crystal mesh wedding dress with lace trims, accessorized with a pink veil and tiara.
