When will the third season of The Great air be? Since 2020, viewers of romance and drama have become lovers of the acclaimed “anti-historical” TV programme. It is loosely based on the life of Catherine the Great, the longest-reigning female tsar in Russian history.

We have laughed, cried, and been on the edge of our seats during the show’s two seasons of “an almost untrue plot” due to the multiple cliffhangers.

The Great is packed with compelling drama, from double-crossing and court tension to outright civil war in the golden palace. Fans are anxious to learn what will happen in the drama series’ next chapter. Thankfully, The Great’s third season has already been confirmed.

That’s right, and it’s time to don your powdered wigs because Nicholas Hoult and Elle Fanning will appear as Peter III and Catherine, respectively.

You might be wondering what these royals will do in the upcoming season of the popular show. Or perhaps you’re wondering when and where you can see it in person.

Season 3 of The Great will include ten episodes

The Great Season 3

The third season of The Great, which will have ten episodes, will return to Hulu in January 2022, according to the official renewal announcement that was made back in January 2022.

It’s not shocking to learn that the third season will likewise feature ten episodes because this would continue the norm for the show over its previous two seasons, which have each had ten.

It was nearly impossible to keep up with The Great Season 2’s ending and all of the drama that took place in just ten episodes, so I can only speculate as to what will happen to this magnificent regal Russian people in the future.

The Great Season 3 Cast: Nicholas Hoult And Elle Fanning Are Returning

Without its leading actors, The Great wouldn’t be quite the same. According to Deadline, Peter III and Catherine the Great will once again be played by Nicholas Hoult and Elle Fanning, respectively.

Both performers are well-known in Hollywood and have appeared in many films and TV episodes. Nicholas Hoult has appeared in several films and television programs, including Those Who Wish Me Dead, Mad Max: Fury Road, and Crossing Swords. In certain X-Men films, he was even one of the stars.

Aside from the Maleficent movies, All The Bright Places, 20th Century Women, and countless other roles, Elle Fanning’s most recent work includes the lead role in the Hulu miniseries The Girl from Plainville. However, it’s exciting to see her return to this role; we adore her.

When the third season was renewed, Elle Fanning posted a video to Instagram with the remark, “THIS CALLS FOR A BIG HUZZAH! We’ll be back for a third season!

Who else from the main cast will return hasn’t been confirmed, but hopefully, we can anticipate some of the same friendly faces we have come to know and love over the past two seasons.

The Great Season 3 Plot

The Great Season 3

The history of Russian emperors Catherine and Peter are told in the first season through several largely true events. Catherine, an outsider, living in a small town, is given a chance to wedding Peter, the future Tsar, to resolve issues once she becomes monarch.

The death of Catherine’s mother and several unpleasant truths are revealed at the end of the second season, which is a pure farce with no basis in reality. All of this is presented in the style of 18th-century drama and top-notch humor.

Fans will continue to be on the edge of their seats, asking numerous questions as Season 3 picks up where it left off.Elle Fanning, Nicholas Hoult, Gillian Anderson, Jason Isaacs, Pheobe Fox, Belinda Bromilow, Charity Wakefield, Gwilym Lee, Adam Godley, and Douglas Hodge and Sacha Dhawan will all be featured in the season’s core cast.

The Great Season 3 Release Date

Release theory for season 3 of The Great

The release date for The Great season 3 is unknown as of November 2022. The Great’s third season is already in production, which is fantastic news.

The show was renewed, and Hulu announced in January 2022 that the new season would have ten episodes. Yay! A happy tweet served as confirmation of the information…

The Great’s first season premiered on May 15, 2020, while season 2 didn’t reach our small screens until November 19, 2021, thanks in part to the Covid-19 pandemic. It makes sense that there won’t be as much of a gap between seasons 2 and 3 this time around since lockdowns are no longer in effect.

The third season of The Great will likely air at the earliest in late 2022, assuming a reasonable production schedule now that the pandemic is no longer significantly delaying production.

The Great Season 3 Trailer

Fans of Catherine, there is currently no trailer for The Great season 3. I’m afraid we are still in the dark on this one since filming hasn’t started and there isn’t any material for a season preview clip. Will update you as soon as the trailer is released with a detailed overview of the trailer.

According to showrunner Tony McNamara, Catherine and Peter’s third season may only be a “nightmare”

The showrunner of The Great hinted that Season 3 for both Catherine and Peter would turn out to be a nightmare when the ending of Season 2 initially debuted in November 2021 (along with the remainder of the show, as Hulu does).

If you remember the Season 2 finale, Catherine and Peter were frequently at each other’s throats despite Catherine being pregnant with his child. However, after the baby is born, she develops feelings for Peter. She subsequently learns that Peter had sex with Catherine’s mother and that he ultimately killed the woman by shoving her out of a window.

This leads to Catherine making plans to kill Peter, but at the end of the series finale, she realizes she can’t and chooses to let him live since, despite her best efforts to deny it, she still has feelings for him.

In a TV Line interview, the showrunner was keen to point out that because Catherine has already realized she needs Peter, the difficulties begin because their ideals and lifestyles are so radically dissimilar.

Review Of The Great Season 2

The Great Season 3

The Great Season 2 has gotten a lot of positive feedback from viewers. We saw after The Great’s second season that Catherine became impatient with the absence of significant change under her control over Russia.

Later, she conducts a practical joke on the court involving a serf to make a point and to jolt the court out of its complacency.

When her mother visits, Catherine’s team is disintegrating, and she begins to question her leadership.

Following that, Elizabeth declares that Catherine’s child will be born in seven days, and the court begins making ritual preparations for Peter and Catherine.

With Elizabeth’s assistance, Peter and Catherine are co-parenting their infant son, Paul, while also attempting to suppress their love for one another.

Before heading to the front lines of the battle for a meeting with the Sultan, Catherine discovers a shocking truth about Peter. See what happens after that.

It appears that the plot of the third season of the television show The Great will pick up where the second season’s plotline left off.

If there are any updates to the plot of The Great’s second season, we will post them here. Watch the third season’s trailer for the television show The Great.
