Pedro Pascal, actor in charge of playing Joel on the HBO series The Last of Us, alongside Neil Druckmann, Naughty Dog co-chairman and director of video games, have shared the first real picture of production, which will narrate the events told in the original video game of 2013; although it will also expand that story.
The date chosen to share the image is no coincidence. On the occasion of The Last of Us Day this September 26, the North American studio has promised news to its fans. In the absence of knowing what everything takes place, this is the first big news: a look at what is already one of the most anticipated series of the next dates.
Ellie (Bella Ramsey) and Joel (Pedro Pascal) appear in the middle of a hill, a moment that is especially reminiscent of specific moments from the first The Last of Us. Their backpacks, their clothes, their postures … references that those who enjoyed an unforgettable work from PlayStation Studios will be able to identify.
The Last of Us series will have 10 episodes in its Season 1
There are many details that we already know about this series based on The Last of Us, starting with the fact that the first season will consist of a total of 10 episodes, all written and produced by Craig Mazin; although Neil Druckmann has also directed an episode. It should be remembered that both will be the executive producers.
The first season of the series “will deviate a lot” from the facts that we already saw in the original title. The pilot episode has already been completed, while the filming process is advancing with a view to ending the next month of June 2022. It is not yet guaranteed that the series will premiere in 2022. In the cast we will have familiar faces from the world of the cinema and television such as Pedro Pascal (Joel), Bella Ramsey (Ellie); Gabriel Luna (Tommy); Nico Parker (Sarah) and more.
Carolyn Strauss (Chernobyl and Game of Thrones), Evan Wells (Naughty Dog), Asad Qizilbash (PlayStation Productions) and Carter Swan (PlayStation Productions) will also participate executive producers of The Last of Us series, where Sony Pictures, World Games, Naughty Dog and PlayStation Productions will be responsible for bringing this ambitious series to life.
