Naughty Dog has published a new post on its official blog on the occasion of The Last of Us Day 2021 celebrated this September 26. Not satisfied with showing the first official image of the HBO series based on the video game, the North American studio has taken the opportunity to address fans and update how things are with the already confirmed multiplayer mode of The Last of Us Part II.
The Last of Us Part 2 multiplayer will show up when ready
As indicated in September 2019, a semester before the premiere of the highly acclaimed sequel, Naughty Dog is working on what we know under the name of Factions, a “Evolution” of the multiplayer mode of The Last of Us that, due to the creative vision and ideas shared in the team, has gained in size and size. Now, two years later, the team led by Neil Druckmann maintains that it is a “ambitious project” that will show when ready.
“Bottom line, we’re working on it – we see feedback from the community as many of you are clamoring for multiplayer and want updates. For now, we will say that we love what the team is developing and we want to give them time to build their ambitious project, We will reveal more when it is ready! ”, They comment in the blog, published at dawn this Monday.
“We are currently in the process of hiring for positions related to multiplayer,” they insist, so that the project is not near completion.
The immediate future of Naughty Dog: Uncharted and more
In other news related to the universe of The Last of Us and Naughty Dog, journalistic sources point to a remake of the original video game for PS5. For its part, the Uncharted saga will return in early 2022 with Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, which will include Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy in a remastered form for PS5 and PC. The computer version will come later; develops Iron Galaxy.
Regarding the next big Naughty Dog project there is no information at the moment.
