Nico Parker, a 16-year-old British actress known for her role in Tim Burtun’s Dumbo, will play Sarah Miller, daughter of Joel, in the television adaptation de The Last of Us por HBO. Deadline has confirmed the information and thus advances more information about the cast of the long-awaited series, where Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey will be Joel and Ellie, respectively.
Parker is the daughter of OI Parker and Thandine Newton, known for her role as Maeve Millay on HBO’s Westworld. This will be his first major participation in a television series with great media coverage. However, HBO and PlayStation Productions are approaching the start of filming for the series, scheduled for this July and with the goal of ending around June 2022. Part of that filming will take place in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
We recently learned that Marlene’s actress, Merle Dandridge, will be responsible for giving life to this same character in the series The Last of Us.
The Last of Us series will be based on the original Naughty Dog video game
Kantemir Balagov (A Great Woman, Too Close) will direct the series’ pilot episode, starring PlayStation Productions, Word Games, The Mighty Mint and Naughty Dog in production. Neil Druckmann, Director of Video Games and Co-Chairman of Naughty Dog, will be joined by Craig Mazin, (showrunner) of Chernobyl, to shape a story of which we do not know to what extent it will include news and changes with respect to the original video game of 2013, but there will be.
The series does not yet have a release date; neither do we know the total number of chapters nor the duration of them.
The Last of Us originally premiered in 2013; later it had a remastering, The Last of Us Remastered, for PlayStation 4, which included the original Left Behind DLC. Currently, we can play this work on PS5 via backward compatibility (included in PS Plus Collection). The Last of Us Part II is the successful installment published in 2020 for PS4, also available on PS5 via backward compatibility.
