The Work Will Continue: SpaceX Engineers to Review Data After Rocket Explosion
SpaceX will continue to review data and work towards their next flight test, following the explosion of their rocket. While there is no precise information about what caused the rocket to explode without being planned, the engineers will continue to analyze the data to determine what went wrong.
Despite the initial moments of takeoff seeming to go according to plan, the rocket began to spin on its axis. Instead of separating, as planned in the first stage of the flight, the ship ended up exploding and failing to complete the 90 minute voyage before splashing down near Hawaii.
SpaceX CEO Elon Musk had previously stated that the test had a 50 percent chance of failing. However, despite the rocket’s explosive end, the technicians at SpaceX still consider the test a success.
