Instagram is always looking for ways to reach its audience more, to surprise them, to launch new things and at the same time to make things easier for them so that they have everything in their app – and thus the user does not have to leave it and use other. And the last thing is that curious icon that you have suddenly found in the application interface.
Map Search
The social network has incorporated a function of ‘search on the map’ that allows users “find nearby places, such as restaurants, cafes or parks taking into account your location”. The feature extends the capabilities of the search bar to find “hot spots”, which are displayed with large icons on the map, based on the user’s location and the popularity of the establishments.
Where is? Then open the application and go to the Explore tab -the magnifying glass icon at the bottom of the main screen. What do you see just above on the right? A new map icon which gives access to this function, which can also be used by doing a search for ‘hashtag’.
For example, when you search for the ‘hashtag’ #restaurante for a recommendation, the places posted with that ‘hashtag’ will appear on the search results page.
Now available
Once you activate it, A screen will appear with an interactive map at the top and a space below listing the most popular places and photos, schedules, filters, etc. Instagram has confirmed that this map search feature reaches Spain, Greece, Italy and Portugal first, but will be expanded to others in the future. And in fact, in Spain it is already available.
