Sony Interactive Entertainment has acquired Bluepoint Games, the studio behind remakes like Shadow of the Colossus. Following the news of the acquisition, Sony shared the information that Demon’s Souls has sold more than one million copies since the release of the PlayStation 5 version.
The news was released along with the official press release confirming the purchase. PlayStation reports that Demon’s Souls has sold 1.4 million copies as of September 19.
These numbers make it a more modest success next to Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which sold about 6.5 million copies. In addition, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart similarly surpassed 1 million sales in a short time.
Bluepoint’s Demon’s Souls remake was released alongside the PlayStation 5 and was released as one of a handful of “next-gen” versions available in the fall. In our review, we described Demon’s Souls as “a breathtakingly amazing adventure game”.
Ayrıca Bluepoint Games, Insomniac and Housemarque is the 16th studio to join PlayStation. Bluepoint’s next project has yet to be announced.
