The famous series The Sopranos it will have new content after 14 years of its tremendous end; all through a prequel film known as The Many Saints of Newark: A Sopranos Story, a film that will narrate the life of a young Tony Soprano in the late 1960s in crime-ridden New Jersey. Starring Michael Gandolfini, son of James Gandolfini, actor who played Tony Soprano in the series before passing away in 2013 at the age of 51, this new film will be released next October 1st, with an HBO Max premiere scheduled for a month later.
Michael Gandolfini: a tribute to his father
So much so, that the young Gandolfini will play the character that made famous by his own father through a teenage version of it, which grew up and took its first steps in crime in one of the most troubled areas of Newark. And is that as it grows, the threats against the DiMeo family are increasingly serious from rival mafias; however, Tony will have the supervision of his uncle Dickie Molsitani, interpreted by Alessandro Nivola.
The cast is completed with Corey Stoll as Junior Soprano, John Magaro like Silvio Dante, Billy Magnussen as Paulie Gualtieri y Mattea Conforti as Janice Soprano, alongside Jon Bernthal, Vera Farmiga and the always charismatic Ray Liotta. The screenwriter David Chase, creator of the original series, is the lead writer and producer of a production directed by Alan Taylor, one of the regular directors of the HBO series.
The Many Saints of Newark: A Sopranos Story the next one opens in theaters October 1st after suffering several delays due to the global coronavirus pandemic.
