Season 2 of “House of the Dragon” is set to bring in new characters and kick off the war stage of the Dance of Dragons. One of these new characters is Simon Strong, played by Simon Russell Beale, a renowned English actor.

Simon Strong is the uncle of the late Lyonel Strong and Harwin and Larys’ great-uncle. He served as the administrator of Harrenhal after the death of the heirs of House Strong, making him an important figure in the castle’s control.

Harrenhal is a strategic point for both the Greens and the Blacks as it is situated in close proximity to King’s Landing, north and south. It comes as no surprise that both factions seek to take control of it. In the series, Daemon Targaryen is the first to attack and gains control of the castle, holding Simon and his grandchildren hostage.

Simon Strong’s loyalty is put into question when the Greens find out about the Blacks’ plans. In “Blood and Fire”, he is killed by Aemond Targaryen, despite being freed by the Greens and being allies with them.

These events show the importance of Simon Strong in Season 2 of “House of the Dragon” and the role he played in the war between the Greens and the Blacks. With new faces and epic battles, the series promises to deliver an enthralling viewing experience for fans.
