“The war of tomorrow”(“ The Tomorrow War ”in its original language), a film starring Chris Pratt, Is available in Amazon Prime Video from Friday, July 2, 2021. The science fiction film is directed by Chris McKay, produced by David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, David S. Goyer, Jules Daly and Adam Kolbrenner, from a script written by Zach Dean and Bill Dubuque.
“The Tomorrow War” was initially scheduled to hit theaters by Paramount Pictures, but due to the pandemic, Amazon Studios acquired the distribution rights with the platform seeking to promote film production.
The film starring Chris Pratt, Yvonne Strahovski, J.K. Simmons, Betty Gilpin, Sam Richardson, Theo Von, Keith Powers, Spoon Mitchell Y Jasmine Mathews, is set in the near future and focuses on humanity’s war against aliens who invaded earth.
“The war of tomorrow” follows Dan Forester (Chris Pratt), a retired military man who works as a science teacher, who is recruited to face terrible aliens capable of destroying the world. He along with other people are teleported 30 years into the future. There they must face the fearsome White Thorns.
Upon reaching the future, Dan is forced to take command of his troop due to a failure in the transfer and his first mission is to rescue the team from the main laboratory in Miami. However, when they discover that there are no scientists left, they must recover some samples and leave that place before the big explosion. Several lose their lives, but when that ends Dan meets Colonel Forester (Yvonne Strahovski), that is, his daughter in the future, who will assign him a mission to save the world.
Even if the sequel to “The war of tomorrow” has not yet been confirmedThe director of the film, Chris McKay, hopes that his science fiction film will have a second part on Amazon Prime, but specifically about the time travel that occurs in the film.
“I hope Amazon wants to make a sequel to this movie, because I think it will be a lot of fun. I think there is a lot of history on the table from a time travel perspective (…) there are many things that I think we can play with and have a lot of fun ”McKay said.
