The writer of the famous comic Secret Wars says that Marvel Studios is preparing his film

After the mega event that was Avengers Infinity War Y Avengers Endgame, Marvel Studios would already be preparing its next massive crossover at the cinema. So assures Jim Shooter, creator and writer of the comic book story arc Secret Wars of Marvel that appeared in the publisher in the mid-80s. And it is that it has been rumored for a long time that the next great cinematic event of the UCM will be, precisely, the Secret Wars of the comics.

The Russo brothers have already volunteered to direct it

This was recently commented by the writer Jim Shooter of the original Marvel Comics Secret Wars within the framework of the Megacon Orlando after the question of whether Marvel Studios plans to adapt their comic. So much so, that the Shooter himself has assured that Marvel Studios takes time securing rights of everything related to the Secret Wars comics.

“I’ll tell you what I know. A ‘clown’ called me from Marvel. He was not an editor, but a property management executive, which was a bit strange. He asked me if I wanted to write a Secret Wars script. And I said, ‘well, I would consider it,’ “says the writer. Even so, Shooter comments that rejected a contract very extensive that he did not consider fair; shortly after, he received a call from a Marvel executive apologizing for the content of the agreement. At that time the writer understood that the company I did not have the rights of many of those characters.

“They didn’t have a single role that said Beyonder, Titania, Vulcan and other characters, or the new Spider-Woman, the whole black suit thing, no role that said they do,” Shooter comments. The writer claims that he ended up signing the contract not without asking if Marvel Studios wanted to adapt Secret Wars, to which they replied that they couldn’t say anything about it.

Let us remember that Russo brothers, directors of the last two Avengers movies in the MCU, have already admitted that they would return to Marvel Studios to direct Wolverine or one adaptation of Secret Wars. We will see if the current Phase 4 ends with that event or is left for later.
