Buckle up, fans of Stranger Things! According to Gaten Matarazzo, season four will be very exciting.
The actor, who plays Dustin Henderson on the hit Netflix series, offered new details about the upcoming season during an interview on The Tonight Show. “We’re coming back,” Gaten said of filming for the show after it had been paused due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The 18-year-old star also noted that this could be the “scariest” season yet.
“Oh yeah! That’s the only thing I’ve noticed,” Gaten told the presenter. Jimmy Fallon. “I was reading it and I thought, ‘They’ll give it all this year, that’s great!'”
The teenager also shared that even though the show was canceled for the summer, he got a temporary job at a local restaurant. In an attempt not to be recognized, Gaten disguised himself a bit, but fans still took notice! “People would just look at me for a second, squint … and say, ‘Are you Gaten Matarazzo?'” He recalled, noting that some fans who recognized him were as young as 3 years old. “They were like, little kids! There are little kids who love Stranger Things, they think it’s like the dot com bomb.”
As for the upcoming season, young children may want to wait a few years to see it.
“I don’t know if little kids will enjoy it that much,” Gaten told the late-night host, who then jokingly suggested that they could pitch the show in segments so that when the kids saw it, it would be “4 or 5.”
Gaten then pointed out, “At the rate we’re going, they should be like 12.”
