The Armed Forces of Ukraine said late on Tuesday (12.07.2022) that Ukrainian aircraft attacked an ammunition depot and a Russian Army camp in the Kherson region, in the south of the country, and controlled by Russia.
“A pair of our attack aircraft have attacked an ammunition depot and an enemy camp in the Novopetrivka area of the Kherson region,” the Ukrainian Army’s Southern Operational Command said in a statement on Facebook.
In addition, the Ukrainian authorities detailed that three Russian fighters had tried to interfere in aviation by launching air-to-air missiles, although without causing losses among the Ukrainian ranks.
Attack caused a fire
However, the Russian missiles reportedly killed a civilian woman who was near a boiler room next to a hardware store in the city of Bashtanka. The destruction of the complex would have caused a fire in a field on the outskirts of the city that would have already been extinguished, Ukrainian authorities said.
For their part, Russian authorities accused the Ukrainian army early Wednesday of launching an attack on a border settlement in Belaya Berezka, Russia.
“Tonight, the settlement of Belaya Berezka has been bombarded with artillery from Ukraine. About 18 mortar shells were fired. There are no casualties among civilians,” the region’s governor, Alexander Bogomaz, wrote on his Telegram channel, according to the TASS agency.
The settlement is located near the border with Ukraine and 130 kilometers from the regional capital city of Bryansk.
