Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez has recovered from injury and is ready to play in Wednesday’s Champions League game against Ajax in Amsterdam, manager Jürgen Klopp said on the eve of the game.

Núñez, who is on Uruguay’s World Cup squad in Qatar, missed his club’s 1-0 Premier League loss to Nottingham Forest at the weekend due to a hamstring strain.

“Darwin is fine. He trained as normal yesterday and today. At the moment he is available,” Klopp told reporters.

Liverpool collected nine points from four Champions League games, six more than Ajax. Napoli, who have already qualified for the round of 16, lead Group A of the competition with 12 points.

Klopp’s team is eighth in the Premier League after 11 games, 12 points behind leaders Arsenal.
