A passerby avoided a tragedy last Wednesday by catching a child who fell through the second-story window of a residential building in the Russian city of Novokuznetsk.

The parents of the one-and-a-half-year-old baby were at home doing household chores when they heard a scream outside the window. After running to the scene, they found their son on the street with a stranger. The woman simply gave the boy to his parents and left, according to reported the general directorate of the Russian Interior Ministry for the Kemerovo region.

The doctors displaced to the place diagnosed the infant with slight contusions, while the authorities began the search for the rescuer through social networks and the media to express their gratitude.

This Monday, the woman appeared before the Police. Svetlana Sanárova, 64, recounted that she was returning from a store when she saw the baby in the window. After throwing the shopping bags, he ran to the building and reached out to catch the child before he fell to the ground.
