An incident in a Brazilian Serie B match caused a commotion, after a defender launched a brutal front kick against a member of the opposing team, leaving him lying on the grass.
The events took place this Friday, in a Second Division match between Botafogo and CRB, played at the Nilton Santos Olympic Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
In the 30th minute of the first half, Joao Victor Andrade Caetano, from the CRB, launched a kick to the face of Rafael Navarro. The defender was sent off with a direct red card.

Despite the tough tackle, Navarro continued the match and helped in the victory over CRB. In a publication on social networks, the player reassured his followers: “Passing by to thank the messages of support and say that I am fine.”
After the 2-0 victory, Botafogo remains in the second position of the Serie B table, 3 points behind the leaders, Coritiba, and is on its way to return to the Brazilian First Division.
