On the afternoon of this Wednesday, a strong explosion was registered in a pyrotechnics workshop in the Mexican municipality of Tultepec, which left a person with first, second and third degree burns. The victim was transferred to the Regional Hospital of High Specialty of Zumpango (HRAEZ), according to reported the Mexiquense News Agency.
The events occurred shortly after 03:00 in the afternoon (local time), in the neighborhood Guadalupe Tlazintla de Tultepec, in the State of Mexico. Authorities reported that the incident was “derived from a pyrotechnic explosion“, without providing further information.
In addition, four vehicles that were a few meters from the workshop were consumed by the flames.
Shortly before 06:00 in the afternoon, the general coordinator of Civil Protection and Comprehensive Risk Management of the State of Mexico, Samuel Gutiérrez, notified that the fire was “100% controlled and suffocated”, thanks to the work of the Fire Department.
