Vince Vaughn Reacts to Receiving a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Vince Vaughn, the 54-year-old actor, recently received the honor of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The ceremony took place on Monday, and later that night, Vaughn attended the red carpet event for the Los Angeles premiere of his new Apple TV+ series, Bad Monkey.

“Oh, it’s just nice to have my family be able to be out and be around,” the Wedding Crashers star shared, reflecting on the significance of the event, at the Billy Wilder Theater at the Hammer Museum on Monday evening.

“Growing up out here in Hollywood, it’s nice to be part of the sidewalk,” he added. Vaughn, who was raised in Illinois, moved to Hollywood at the age of 18 to start his career.

However, Vaughn admitted he had never envisioned this moment. “Gosh, I don’t know if I thought about it all that much,” he candidly said.

Vaughn’s wife, Kyla, was by his side at both events. The couple married in 2010 and share two children: their 13-year-old daughter, Locklyn, and 11-year-old son, Vernon.

ET recently gave fans a first look at Vaughn’s new series, which follows Andrew Yancy, a former detective with the Miami Police Department. Yancy’s life takes an interesting turn when a severed human arm washes up on a beach, leading him into a winding investigation.

The show was co-created by Bill Lawrence, known for his work on Ted Lasso, and his former Scrubs collaborator, Matt Tarses.

The series boasts an ensemble cast, including L. Scott Caldwell, Rob Delaney, Meredith Hagner, Natalie Martinez, Alex Moffat, Michelle Monaghan, Ronald Peet, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Scott Glenn. Guest stars include John Ortiz, Zach Braff, and Charlotte Lawrence.

“Bill’s such a good writer,” Vaughn praised. “He’s done it in so many different genres and it’s so easy when you have a guy like that at the helm because you have a big trust level to kind of play around and feel safe in his hands.”

Vaughn also noted the “good chemistry” and “lots of fun” among the cast while filming.

Bad Monkey premieres on Apple TV+ on August 14.
