According to provisional data at the close of the New York Stock Exchange, the Dow Jones rose 9.22 points and stood at 34,292.49.
The selective S&P 500 also advanced 0.03% or 1.29 points, to 4,291.90; while the Nasdaq Composite Index rose 0.19 or 27.83 points to 14,528.
