It is almost certain that the second part of Dune is already on the table, well Warner Bros. has anticipated that the sequel is destined to happen.

Ann Sarnoff, Executive Director of Studies and Networks, WarnerMedia, he hinted at Deadline that even though it doesn’t have a green light yet, Dune Part 2 is on its way. This is what he has commented on the matter:

“Will we have a sequel to Dune? If you watch the movie, you see how it ends. I think you almost know the answer to that.”, said.

The sequel will reportedly focus on Zendaya’s character Chani.

Dune, which was recently released, is based on Frank Herbert’s book and tells only the first part of the story; the movie even begins with a title card that says “Dune: Part 1”, which makes it clear that there is more story to tell.

It seems like it’s only a matter of time until Part 2 is officially confirmed.. In fact, director Denis Villeneuve recently told MRT’s Jim Vejvoda that he’s ready to go. start filming the sequel “as soon as possible.”.

“I’d be very ready to go pretty fast.”, he confirmed. “To go fast in a movie of that size, you still need to do sets, costumes, so we’re talking months. But if there is ever buzz and the movie gets the green light sooner rather than later, I’ll be ready to film in 2022 for sure. “.

Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean production is rushing, as Villeneuve confirmed that the emphasis is always on quality.

“I’m ready to go and I’ll say I’d love to get it to the screen asap.”he explained. “The first movie, really I had time to make sure it was exactly how I wanted that was. I would love to have the same feeling when I do the second part. That would be the priority. Quality will be the priority. “.

Dune is already off to a promising start, with an international opening of 36.8 million dollars. Ultimately, it is likely that it won’t be long until the sequel is officially announced.
