Among the big bets that Netflix launched this month, one of the most relevant had to do with the third season of Sex Education. And, without a doubt, it was a success: today it is among the most viewed content of the streaming platform, leaving behind premieres such as Lucifer O The Money Heist. It is clear that it is one of the series most chosen by young people, who feel so identified with their characters that they go through adolescence and their sexuality.
All of them already enjoyed the first two seasons, in which Otis (Asa Butterfield), son of a sex therapist (Gillian Anderson), always seems to have an answer regarding problems or insecurities that may arise in that area. Not for having experienced it, but for simply listening to those sessions. Because, Maeve (Emma Mackey), a quite rebellious high school classmate, proposes to open her own sex therapy clinic and earn money with it.
The relationships between the students of Moordale High they begin to consolidate more and more, at the same time that each one of them begins to discover their own identity and to express it as freely as possible. A series in which nothing is taboo and that, with the arrival of these new eight episodes, they are already strengthening their audience more and more that cries out for a fourth installment of British production.
+ What’s true about a Sex Education spin-off?
On social media, users began to fantasize about a spin-off, that series that takes the original story as its starting point to focus only on some specific characters or some particular conflict. Sex Education is a fiction that remarkably allows it: there is a large number of characters main and secondary, while each has its own internal conflicts. But what is true about this?
Asa Butterfield, leading actor of the series, revealed to Cosmopolitan: “I would love to make one christmas movie with the topic of sex education. We won’t know if there will be more seasons, it’s out of our hands right now”. And he concluded: “A spin-off would be nicebut it has to be well thought out and really unique. I would love to make one fourth season because we have so much fun on this show. At the same time, we have been doing it for three years and I would be happy to say goodbye of these characters”.
