WhatsApp has presented a new update in the Google Play Store of Android, where it has modified two of its classic emoticons, have you noticed? as it is a slight but important variation in the design it is understandable that most have not yet found out.

The change was made in the emojis of a young couple (male and female) with a red heart in the middle, in the first emoticon both are with their eyes open while in the second they keep them closed. Now these have been replaced by two gender non-binary people, what does it mean? It is the classification of gender in two different ways than masculine and feminine, either by the social system or a cultural belief.

At the moment, the icons are only shown in yellow, it means that WhatsApp it won’t offer you the ability to change your skin tone to a lighter or darker skin tone. However, it is likely that in the future it will be possible to modify the color through the integrated tone selector.

In addition, it is important to note that these emojis are only available in beta version 2.21.23.4 of WhatsApp, which means they haven’t been officially released yet and there could be changes if beta users don’t approve of the emoticons.
