Bergantín is a beach with calm and clean waters in the province of Puerto Plata, between Playa Dorada and Sosúa.
Few people outside of Puerto Plata know that Bergantín beach exists. It can be accessed from Montellano, or by kilometer 7 of the Luperón Highway, near Playa Dorada.
In the current conditions, you must go in high vehicles or 4×4 for the state of the road that leads to this beach.
The beauty of its surroundings has captured the attention of President Luis Abinader. It is such that on February 27 he highlighted the construction of a project on that beach in which the actor and businessman Vin Diesel will participate.
This is the Punta Bergantín project, an initiative that seeks to promote Puerto Plata tourism and cinema.
It will be “an innovation and cinematographic ecosystem” that will have 8 million meters, with a hotel development of 3,200 rooms, a golf course, an industrial hub, a film studio, an urban shopping center, and a real estate tourism development area.
Likewise, Vin Diesel’s One Race Films will develop a film studio and a training center on issues related to this industry.
Although the project’s release date was not announced, it was revealed that its design is already ready.
